Posting on to the Highland Marketing website

Whoever is working on collating the coverage has the responsibility to post on to the HM website under PR news wire, this should be done when you have received most of the coverage and choose the best 2 bits of coverage making sure you are not always selecting the same publications as other posts on the HM website.

First of all, open the final news release document and delete the media contact details from the bottom, then save as a PDF version in the coverage folder on MS Teams.

Login into the HM website via this address (if you require a login please contact Gregor MacKenzie ): 

  1. Click on the + at the top left then select news release.
  2. Copy over the news release title into the top box (always paste as plain text so it doesn’t mess up the styles).
  3. Copy the first paragraph of the news release into the 2nd box (always paste as plain text so it doesn’t mess up the styles).
  4. Scroll down to Release PDF and click add then drop the PDF you just created into here
  5. Select the correct client from the drop down menu or add a new one if you need to
  6. Finally scroll back up to the top right and click publish
  7. Then select the date the release was sent out.
  8. Then select publish.
  9. Now once this is published click on the black arrow at top left.
  10. Now you need to select your 2 best bits of coverage to put in the next bit. Open the 2 best bits of coverage in your internet explorer.
  11. Click + at the top left then select client media coverage
  12. Do one at a time, copy over the news release title from the coverage into the top box
  13. Copy the first paragraph of the news release coverage into the 2nd box
  14. Scroll down and select the correct client from the drop down menu or add a new one if you need to
  15. Select the correct publication and add a new one if you need to.
  16. Select the correct linked wire release (the one you just posted above)
  17. Select the correct coverage type
  18. Scroll down and input the destination URL
  19. Scroll back up to the top right and click publish
  20. Then select the date this coverage was put online
  21. Then select publish
  22. Then do this bit again for the 2nd bit of coverage

Once these steps have been completed always check the HM website to make sure everything has uploaded correctly.
